What??!!!??? No one has ever accused me of being stylish before! What an honour!
I just LOVE reading comments from people, and I've begun to look forward to opening my messages whenever I see "Naturally Carol has left you a comment on..." in my inbox! She's always so sweet and encouraging about my projects. Boy was I surprised to open her comment to see she had nominated me for a Stylish Blogger Award!
Thank you!!! You are so sweet. Check out Naturally Carol here to see what she's up to in Australia!
Now I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about me (oh, I hate this part!) in no particular order:
1. I'm a fairly optimistic person.
2. I'm very protective of friends and family.
3. I try to find the humor in difficult or tense or serious situations. Yep, it's gotten me into trouble before. (Think college class at night after being stuck on campus all day long and you and your friend are feeling a teensy bit of the stir-crazies.) =D
4. I have an enormous amount of respect for people in the military that serve to protect our country and our freedoms (Thank You Beth and Marie Anne and any others I may not know out there).
5. My favorite Bible verse is James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." What a promise! (A close second would be John 17:3, "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." or Ephesians 2:4-5, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.")
6. My husband sacked Tony Romo. (Yes, I recognize that it is not really about me, but I'm immensely proud of my husband, and I love to see the reactions I get to saying that! And for those not in the U.S., it's just us sports-crazed Americans talking about football again. Sorry.)
7. I play the piano.
8. Since I cheated with adding one about hubby, here's a little insight into my deepest desires: I want to be "Grandma Fluffy." I love, love, LOVE to feed people, and so my friends have taken to calling me Grandma Fluffy. I think it has something to do with making them fat... ;-)

Thanks again, and happy blogging!
Aww, Mindy, thanks so much! I really appreciate it and will do it all up in my next post. Loved reading your list and I also play the piano! I've got to go and make up my own list of nominees now.
ReplyDeleteWOW, Mindy . . .Thank You SO MUCH. I can't believe you think my blog is "stylish." Man, I am humbled and I graciously accept . . . now to link back. The link isn't showing up on this netbook, so I will "officially" link back when I get on the PC tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNow . . FESS UP . . how old was he when he played against Tony Romo? Since you live in WI,(and isn't that where Romo is from?) I can guess that it might have been pee-wee, high school, college or NFL . . .I am DYING to know about this.
GEEZ . . .all my husband has sacked is groceries! LOLOL
Now, I am trying to figure out why the "comments" section isn't showing up . . .Miss No-Techno here has looked everywhere I can think off and it says it should. Oh well . . maybe it will work better tomorrow.
Wooohooo! Thank you, Mindy! That is very nice of you to add me to your list :-) Now I'll have to work on mine....I'm touched.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks so much! I'm touched! :) I'll definitely pass the award along soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Mindy, so glad you have taken up the award today, we have something in common...my favourite verse is also the one in James about wisdom. I discovered fairly early in my Christian walk that I didn't have any...so took that verse to heart...so I know that any wisdom there is in my life is because of Him! I am looking forward to checking out all of the people you have awarded...congratulations.
ReplyDeleteHi Mindy,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the award! I am honoured! I will get down to passing on the award a little later today! Vxx
Thanks Mindy!! I really appreciate including me on the award. I'm so happy to receive my first award. Thanks for visiting my blog, thinking it's stylish, and for all the great comments!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Look for an acceptance post with you backlinkage sometime this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me, Mindy! I haven't got around to posting it on my blog yet, but I'll get there!

ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Paula--They played each other in High School. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun reading about everybody and checking out new blogs!
Thank you so much, Mindy. You're such a honey to choose Modern Country Style. I recognise some of the other blogs you chose and it makes me squeak to think of my blog being up there with them!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Sarahx
Does your hubby have a t-shirt reading "I sacked Tony Romo?"
ReplyDeleteIf not, I think that would be pretty cool :0}
Ha ha ha!!!! That would be SO great! Although, I think I'd be more apt to wear "My husband sacked Tony Romo" than he would be to wear "I sacked Tony Romo." I'll let him know you've suggested it! ;-)
