A regular goofball

My favorite conversations seem to happen while preparing or eating lunch. I never quite know what to expect, but it's always entertaining! Recent example:

Son: Well, VeggieTales teaches us at least one thing!
Me: That 'God made you special, and He loves you very much!'?
Son: ...and not to point! Because they don't have any arms OR hands!

Yep. I didn't see that one coming.

  1. I love what kids say!

I've had my own little "Veggie Tales" adventure. Never give a preschooler who regularly watches Veggie Tales a real cucumber and tomato to play with. I knew better, but my mom gave those to my kiddo when we were visiting her, and then said "Oh, go ahead and take them home" when my son didn't want to let them go at the end of the visit. I think she thought he might actually eventually eat them. HA HA! No, it ended with me tearing them away from my crying child while trying to explain that "Larry and Bob live in the fridge...they'll get squishy if we leave them out any longer". Forget about trying to serve them up in a salad after that!

  2. I used to babysit, and we always had the best conversations at the lunch table. A good reason to have sit-down meals together. :)
