Neckwarmer Fail

A while ago, Beth at Visions of Sugar Plums had mentioned that she wanted to see a small neckwarmer/scarf with a slit instead of buttons. I figured that wouldn't be too difficult, so I gave it a try.

I'm not a fan.

I like that the slit is big enough that the other side fits through but not too tightly, and I like that it's small enough that you don't lose warmth.
But I'm just not pleased with the overall outcome. Perhaps it would work better for a knitter? Or a more skilled crocheter? Maybe it just needs some embellishment...

Well, we take the good with the bad, so now you've seen a "bad."

  1. I'm giggling at your post . . .and here is the reason why.

I made Sock Monkey Cat Nip toys for all of the cats inmy extended family. I wanted to protect the join of the head to thebody so I made them a scarf. A normal scarf would come apart, so I made a slit and it worked PERFECT!

I think you are right with the slit . . . try a smaller one and see if it works better for you.

  3. I like it! I even like the sage green color. Is that what bothers you with it, or is it that it's short?

  4. I'm not convinced it's bad yet. I'd like to see it on first!

  5. What's bad about it? Who cares if it looks wonky when not wearing it, it's how it works around your neck that matters. When you've got it 'assembled', it looks just fine to me.

  6. It doesn't look bad. I wonder how it looks on someone. Maybe if the slit was thinner?

  7. I think this would be fine when it's on a person! The slit looks wide, but who cares!

  8. How did it take me so long to respond to this? I'm sorry :-)

I think it's great! So, yes, not the best when it's not tucked through, but it's perfect when it's together. I wonder if the slit running vertically would be better? Go....get to it :-) Just kidding!

i think it's great and you're so creative!
