Antique Sale Find

Look at this!!

Walking past a table at a huge antique sale, I spotted a cone of rough twine. It caught my eye, and as I walked closer, I saw two crochet hooks. I picked them up to show my hubby, and the lady called out, "You can have both of those for a dollar." Um, twist my arm...Yes, please!
Doesn't that triangular one look interesting? I can't imagine working with it, but I'll definitely have to give it a try.
Why yes, that certainly is my favorite brand of hook!

The bottom line: Are they truly "antiques" here? Probably not. Do I care? Certainly not!

Do you have a favorite "find"?

  1. Perhaps not antiques, but definitely "vintage", I've never seen a Bates hook like that. Very cool!

  2. Oh, that pointy one will be so handy for doing tight stitches, you know when you find it hard to get the hook through the loop?

  3. Ooh, don't let any children near that pointy one! I agree with Wendy that it would be great for getting into tighter stitches, but I have a five year old son who would enjoy playing light saber with that one!

  4. O my goodness! I love those. I have been on the hunt for real wood crochet hooks. They are hard to find unless you want to pay a fortune for them!

  5. Those are so cool! I miss crocheting...it's so hard to "do it all"! So I don't. :)

  6. Thanks everyone! I can't wait to find the "right" project to use one. =)

Mary--I'm with you...that's why I haven't gotten my kitchen floor washed yet today. =D oops.

  7. Yes I do. I found a set of christmas dishes that was discontinued. They matched my current set and I got them for $10. I get happy every time I use them! Blessings, Joanne
