Pineapple Doily

Another quick doily came together over a few days. I was really anxious to do this one and finish it. It was so exciting to finally complete my first pineapple doily!

Why did I choose green for a pineapple doily? Because it was pretty, and I didn't make the connection until just now. =)

It's not blocked or even spray-starched yet. Do you think I should block it so that the points around the outside are pointier or just spray-starch and iron it so it holds its general shape?

  1. Frankly, I never block or starch my doilies!.. And I think yours is lovely just the way it is! I'd like to make a couple small ones myself sometime soon, for a shelf I have. I'll have to check out this pattern! Very pretty!.. Enjoy your weekend! ~tina

  2. Ditto what Tina said . . . I only starch my snowflakes and any doily that has a ruffle that needs to stand up. I prefer the softness of the unstarched doily.

    I'm going to check this pattern out . oh . . and I like the green too :0}

  3. I also like it the way that it is but if you do want to block/starch it I'd personally go with the starching because I like the shape as is. My two cents. :)

  6. Beautiful work! I have a doily of the same pattern, my mom crocheted it, but it's in white. Yours in green looks very lovely.
    I made several doilies lately, but I can't find time to starch them, but once I did, I will post about them.

  9. Nice Job! I like the color. As far as starching it..that is a personal preference. I like some of my doilies soft, so that they drape and others need to be blocked and starched so that the details of the doily stand out. So it all depends on what you want to do with it. Just my opinion though
